Chrome plating
Chrome has a hard and wear-resistant surface. At Chem-Tec Plating, chrome is used exclusively as a cosmetic finish.
Chrome plating
Chromium can in other contexts be used to achieve a high wear resistance with hard chrome plating, however Chem-Tec Plating does not offer hard chrome plating.
Typical layer thickness:
0.1 – 0.3µ
Appearance:
Glossy or matt, depending on the substrate.
Application:
At Chem-Tec Plating – exclusively as a cosmetic coating.
Material:
We only use chrome as a top coating on nickel, both glossy and pearlescent nickel.
Combination coating:
The undercoat for chrome will be nickel or pearlescent nickel to achieve a better finish.
With an undercoating of nickel, it is also possible to coat stainless steel and aluminum with chrome.
Suitability:
Coating with chrome will give a hard surface.
