Nickel plating

A nickel coating provides excellent corrosion protection and a durable surface, which is also used for decorative purposes.

Nickel plating

Nickel has a wear-resistant surface. Nickel provides a high finish that gives a glossy to matte appearance depending on the substrate. Nickel can stand alone as a surface treatment, but is most often used in conjunction with chrome and Tin/Ni coatings.

Nickel is also used as a base coating for stainless steel.

Typical Layer Thickness:

5 – 15µ

Light, grayish surface, Semi-glossy to glossy surface.

The choice of finish for the raw item (Glossy, matt or glass-blown) has a great impact on the end result.

When using high-gloss nickel, the processed item should be polished before coating.

Chem-Tec Plating offers a solution for coating stainless steel with nickel.

Nickel is often used in combination with gold, chrome, black chrome and Anthracite to achieve the right finish, but also to provide better corrosion protection and form a more wear-resistant coating.

Nickel can be precipitated on steel, copper, brass.

Combination coating:

Nickel can be combined with gold, chrome or anthracite depending on the wanted color, finish and layer thickness.

Nickel offers protection against corrosion and provides a hard and scratch-resistant surface.
