Electroless nickel/PTFE

Treatment with electroless nickel/PTFE is applicable in places where it is not possible to lubricate. Up to 20 % PTFE particles are embedded.

Electroless nickel/PTFE

Electroless NiP/PTFE is a nickel-phosphorus alloy with 9-12% phosphorus, in which up to 20% PTFE particles are embedded, resulting in a good "slip effect" as well as low friction. At the same time, part of the nickel's hardness is retained.
The treatment has proven to be useful for the plating of fine mechanical parts where oil and grease lubrication have been unsuitable.

If desired, the hardness of the coating can be increased by heat treatment.

Typical layer thickness:

3-7µm chemical nickel/PTFE on 5-20µm electroless nickel.

Appearance:

Light to dark charcoal grey, matte surface.

Application:

At Chem-Tec Plating A/S, we can add an electroless nickel/PTFE coating on fittings, valves, hydraulic components, transmission and pump parts, wear parts and welding jaws.

Material:

Electroless nickel/PTFE can be deposited on steel, stainless steel, copper, brass and aluminium.

Suitability:

  • Weak electrical conductor
  • Good corrosion protection – depending on layer thickness
  • Low friction

Setup Method:

Fixtures or drums.

Dimensions:

L x W x D: 550mm x 250mm x 550mm
